Wishing everyone a happy Friday, especially my friend Peggy who is in New York and hunkering down with everyone else in the Northeast for what promises to be an epic snowstorm.
The shot above is from a row Peggy and I did around Angel Island last Saturday. Conditions were stellar. Water was flat as a lake and the air was soft and fairly warm for a February morning (got to love Northern California!).
Peggy kept her cool and her sense of humor all nine miles of the way – even when we inadvertently rowed over a harbor seal swimming under our boat (Felt like a speed bump. Never had that happen before. Seal fine. Rowers only slightly rattled. Sorry, buddy!).
Oh yeah and the shot below? That’s what happens when you
subject a flat water rower to open water distances.
